We’ve had a few days to digest the monumental weekend that has just gone and we’ve needed it to process the sheer amount of awesome that we witnessed on Sunday.

Less than a year ago we had a silly idea of putting on an all day Power/Prog Metal Festival. We sat in camping chairs sipping gin in the sunshine concocting the most ludicrous of ideas. Once word had got out to our peers about our plans of launching the silliest Questival known to metal, the consensus was that we had to go ahead with it.

The hard work that went into the months that followed were heavily rewarded with our very first PMQF  being a sell out. Words can not describe how beautiful it was to see you, the fans, flocking in to support the days line up. The venue was full at 3.30pm on a Sunday afternoon and that says so much about how wonderful our metal community is! This atmosphere continued from the moment our openers The Mighty Wraith took to the stage, to long after our headliners Triaxis stepped off it.

Of course we have to say a massive thank you to all the bands that came from near and far to play this year. They were all incredibly deserving of the warm reception they received. A big thanks to our stall holders Heathen Waxworks and Sea Shepherd, not forgetting our photobooth and props kindly provided by local heroes Birmingham Rockschool. We’ve been privy to some of the photos taken on the night and they are truly spectacular in the most cheesey of ways!

Big thanks also go to The Roadhouse who allowed us to take over their venue for the day and night. There were also a lot of crew who helped out on the day, from selling merchandise to carrying equipment back and forth and ensuring the event ran smoothly and on time.

When we set out on this adventure, our aim was to bring together a special community of like-minded fans and bands for a day of celebrating everything we love about power metal. What has unfolded has turned this dream into a true reality and the support we have received has been absolutely incredible. So our biggest thanks of all has to go to each and every one of you who bought tickets and travelled (some of you from the furthest corners of the UK) to support our very own homegrown plethora of amazing talent. You are all truly amazing and none of this could have been possible without you.

So that’s enough of the emotional sop for one day – who’s up for doing it all again?

More cheese, more steel – gather your weapons and horses and spread the word. Power Metal Quest Fest ’18 is happening.

All the love and steel in the world
